Machining – automated tool for the machining of high value-added aeronautical parts.

Actions carried out in recent months by UTINGAL.

Since 2016, UTINGAL SL as coordinator, participates in the MACIZADO project together with the companies ISEGA and COMPONENTES AERONÁUTICOS COASA.

The general objective of the MACIZADO project is to generate a specific tool for the solidification process of high added value parts for the aeronautical industry.

During the last few months it has been developing very important advances that have updated the evolution of the project in the following points:

1.- DEVELOPMENT AND OPTIMISATION OF THE MACHINING PROCESS.

1.1- CNC machining: After the study of tools and multiple machining tests, the best option for machining with a specific tool has finally been selected. With this tool, the objective of eliminating vibrations, delamination and flaking during the production process can be achieved.

2.- DEVELOPMENT AND OPTIMISATION OF THE VACUUM FILLING PROCESS.

The vacuum filling system designed in the previous phase has been manufactured. This system allows a high degree of efficiency.

3.- AUTOMATIC RESIN FILLING. Work has been carried out on the dosing system, achieving a high degree of compliance with the planned objectives using robotic resources with the support of ISEGA.

4.- IMPROVEMENT OF THE PRE-CURING PROCESS. The first tests are being carried out.

5.- INSPECTION OF THE MIXING PROCESS, with the first real test pieces being worked on.

This project is subsidised by the Axencia Galega de Innovación, has been supported by the Consellería de Economía, Emprego e Industria and is co-financed by FEDER, OT1 “Promoting technological development, innovation and quality research”, P.O. FEDER Galicia 2014-2020.
